The first step of any app or web project is to develop your idea into a well formed product. Development starts with understanding the core idea and working out how best to develop it. The first thing I will do is to get you to send me a detailed brief, this helps you just as much as it helps me as it forces you to sit down and really plan your idea. Once you have the brief I can digest it and give you some indication of costings and estimates for my services.
Providing all is good we can begin to discuss how the product should function and who your target audience is, iron out a few kinks and ensure we're both on the same page.
Once you have a well formed brief, with every aspect of the application well thought out we then begin to approach the User Experience. I tackle the UX by creating highly detailed wireframes which act as a living document that develops as the idea grows. Wireframes are perfect for spotting problems early and a vital exercise to ensure we understand how the app works and flows.
UX is much more then wireframes, it's about understanding the user flow and how they get from A to B without getting lost or distressed. UX leans towards the strategy side, how things work, what does what, what happens if you tap here, what if X happens. Once you have worked out where your problems may be, you can work on solutions
We will now have some solid plans and know the app or website functions inside out, we will have detailed wireframes that we can refer to incase of any questions or problems and everyone involved knows 'what's what'.
The next step is to make it look pretty, this is where the User Interface design comes in, UI is everywhere - every website you have ever been on has a form of interface design in one way or the other. UI is hugely important to get right, as you may have the best idea in the world but if it looks bad none will want to try it. The UI process starts with rough visuals and finishes with highly detailed and finished layered artwork which can then be passed onto your developer or shared with one of my developers.
When all the UX and UI designs have been finished and signed off it's time to get the application or website developed. Although I'm not a developer myself I have vast experience with working with them and can even put you in touch with a few excellent developers. I would then work alongside these developers to ensure the artwork and plans we have laid down are executed accurately and without flaws.
I have excellent technical understanding which will help you trust me to liaise directly with your team.
